Trams stalled for 6 hours in Mykolaiv due to improper parking

In September, tram traffic in Mykolaiv was stopped for more than 400 minutes due to improperly parked cars blocking the tracks.
This was reported by Mykolaivelectrotrans.
The utility company emphasizes that irresponsible parking creates significant inconvenience to passengers and urges car drivers to be careful and not to block public transportation.
The company reminded about the fines for the downtime of electric vehicles due to violation of parking rules:
UAH 1692 for a tram idle time;
UAH 1794 for a trolleybus idling.
Earlier, we reported on a case where a driver was fined over six thousand hryvnias for insufficiently tight parking, blocking tram traffic in the center of Mykolaiv.
Mykolaiv has initiated the reconstruction of its outdated rail and sleeper facilities. The project covers the renovation of almost 70 kilometers of tram tracks.
The project envisages the renovation of 69.6 km of tram tracks, most of which have been in operation since the 1970s. According to the description, the old rails and sleepers have already reached the end of their standard service life, which increases the risk of derailments, deforms tram bodies, increases noise and vibrations in nearby buildings, and increases the cost of emergency repairs.
The reconstruction includes the dismantling of emergency sections, the arrangement of a ballast prism, the installation of modern rail and sleeper gratings and switches, and the improvement of the roadway.
The project involves the replacement of about 15 km of track using 2,400 NT1 rails, 9,600 M24 butt bolts, 25,200 concrete sleepers with PANDROL FASTCLIP FE fasteners, and 10 sets of turnouts of various types.
