Solar panels to be installed at three critical infrastructure facilities in Mykolaiv

The Rehabilitation Center for Children, the Primary Care Medical Center, and Mykolaivvodokanal will soon use alternative sources of electricity.
This is reported by the website of Mykolaiv City Council.
Such initiatives are being implemented by the Department of Energy, Energy Saving and Introduction of Innovative Technologies of Mykolaiv City Council in partnership with the NGO Ecoclub.
Such measures are designed to reduce dependence on traditional energy sources, save budget funds and ensure the operation of these facilities during possible blackouts.
Recently, Ecoclub project participants and other future partners visited the designated facilities to determine further actions for the installation and maintenance of solar panels.
The implementation of these initiatives is part of the city's overall strategy to develop sustainable energy and reduce the carbon footprint in the municipal sector.
In early June of this year, owners of apartment buildings decided to switch to solar energy.
Only recently, 10 condominiums have installed solar panels and the necessary equipment. The results were not long in coming. For example, Parusny, 7a condominium association saved 2,540 kW of electricity in May thanks to the operation of a solar power plant, which is almost 11 thousand hryvnias.
The decision to install solar energy sources on the roof of an institution or residential building is gradually paying off. For example, in the first seven months of 2025, Mykolaivvodokanal spent more than UAH 380 million on the most expensive purchases. Most of the money was spent on electricity, reconstruction of water pipes, and the purchase of chemicals.
That is why the Mykolaiv City Planning Department is also actively investing in the installation of solar panels.
