The Sevastopol City Court, which is now controlled by the Russian authorities, sentenced 45-year-old local resident Dmitry Myskov to 14 years in prison. The Crimean resident is accused of conducting intelligence activities in favor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was reported by the news portal Krym. Realii news portal based on the information released by the Sevastopol Prosecutor's Office created by the Russian authorities.
The verdict handed down by the judges is based on Article 275 of the Russian Criminal Code ("High Treason"). The charges were based on allegations that the defendant was recruited by the SBU last year, joined a Telegram channel coordinating anti-Russian activities, and from July to September 2024 sent intelligence to Ukrainian special services for a monetary reward. In particular, Myskov allegedly photographed for Ukrainian intelligence the locations of Black Sea Fleet vessels and Russian military helicopters, and tracked their movements.
The prosecutors' allegations have not yet received any comments from the Ukrainian special services or representatives of the Armed Forces. In the context of military operations, there is no way to verify the veracity of the charges.
According to the court verdict, after serving 14 years in a maximum security colony, Myskov will face another year of restricted liberty. In addition, the alleged spy must pay a fine of 200 thousand rubles.
In total, as of August 25 this year, more than 1,500 court cases have been registered for "discrediting" the Russian army. In particular, 222 people are illegally detained on the territory of Crimea. Of these, 133 are representatives of the Crimean Tatars.
