Regional Council plans to transfer backup boiler houses for hospitals to Mykolaiv

The Mykolaiv Regional Council is considering transferring seven modular boiler houses to the balance sheet of the city of Mykolaiv to ensure their proper maintenance and operation in the event of possible power outages.
The relevant draft decision was considered during a meeting of the Standing Committee on Social Policy, Healthcare and Veterans' Rights.
Iryna Tkachenko, Head of the Health Department of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, explained that the International Organization for Migration had donated seven modular boiler houses to hospitals to provide medical facilities with heat in the event of prolonged power outages.
"Given that these boilers require appropriate specialists to maintain and operate, it was decided to transfer them to the city council with further transfer to Mykolaivoblteploenergo for effective use during blackouts," Tkachenko said.
According to the draft decision, the cost of the seven boiler houses received in 2024 is UAH 81.9 million. They were distributed among five medical institutions in the region.
The commission members supported the project but recommended finalizing the document. In particular, it is necessary to obtain the consent of the humanitarian aid provider to transfer the boilers, as well as the approval of the Mykolaiv City Council to accept them.
Earlier, the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration signed agreements for more than a billion hryvnias for new boiler houses to replace the destroyed CHP plant. The contracts for the supply of equipment were signed without open bidding with five companies.
The Department of Urban Planning, Architecture, Capital Construction and Development Project Support of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration has signed five agreements for the supply of block-modular boiler houses totaling more than UAH 1.8 billion. All contracts were executed without open bidding, which is allowed in wartime in accordance with government regulations.
