The police reported that the curfew during the Christmas and New Year celebrations will last as usual from 24:00 to 5:00.

As the Main Department of the National Police in Odesa region reminded, movement on the streets is prohibited, except for going to a shelter during an alarm.

"Traditionally, on holidays, people attend worship services and participate in various events. In the context of constant enemy attacks, blackouts and other realities of today, everyone should be especially careful and responsible. When visiting churches and public places, find out in advance about the location of shelters and immediately go there in case of an air raid alert. Use candles, garlands and other decorations carefully to avoid fires. Remember that pyrotechnics remain prohibited. Avoid large crowds, as this can pose an additional danger," the police said.

On Easter night 2025, the usual curfew regime was also in effect in the southern regions of Ukraine. The authorities of Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions decided not to change the curfew duration to maintain security under martial law.

Last year, curfews were also not lifted on New Year's Day and Christmas.

In 2023, Odesa Regional Administration was the first in Ukraine to change the curfew terms: on March 1, it began to operate from midnight to five in the morning, while before that it started at 23:00 and lasted until 5:00.

Launching salutes, fireworks and using firecrackers during martial law is prohibited throughout Ukraine.

In particular, in April 2023, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the second reading the draft law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on the Use and Circulation of Pyrotechnic Products", which prohibits the use, sale and transfer of fireworks, salutes and firecrackers.
