Starting April 1, residents of Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv region, will pay more for water and sewage services.
The decision to increase tariffs was made at a meeting of the executive committee of the city council on March 14.
As explained by Oleksandr Lysyi, head of the Housing and Utilities Department, the Pervomaisk Water and Sewerage Department had to raise prices due to rising costs for electricity, fuel, reagents and network maintenance. The situation was also affected by the increase in the minimum wage.
According to the new tariffs, starting from April 1, 2025, the cost of services will be as follows:
- Water supply - UAH 56.23/m³
- Water disposal - 36.18 UAH/m³
- Technical water supply - 34.00 UAH/m³
The members of the executive committee obliged the utility company to inform residents in advance about the changes in accordance with the law.
The issue of the population's debt for the services used was raised separately. In order to pay off the debt, the authorities plan to tighten control over debtors and intensify efforts to collect unpaid amounts.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that residents of Mykolaiv have accumulated huge water debts to the water utility. The company promises to sue the bad debtors.
Also, Mykolaiv residents owe over 380 million hryvnias for heating to the utility company. If these funds were paid, the repair of heating networks would be faster. As of the beginning of August, the debt to Mykolaiv CHP is UAH 117 million, and to Mykolaivoblteploenergo it is UAH 253.9 million.
In total, the number of utility debtors in the south of the country is 49,515 consumers. Debts for utilities have increased by one third since the start of the full-scale invasion. Mykolaiv region leads the country's southern regions with 29,341 debtors. Odesa region ranks second with 14,854 debtors. Kherson region is in third place with only 5,320 debtors.
