Odesa allocates 100 thousand to families of flood victims

Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov has ordered to allocate 100 thousand hryvnias to be received by a family member of a flood victim or a person who was involved in the burial of flood victims in Odesa.
The mayor's order was published by the press service of the mayor's office.
In order to receive one-time targeted financial assistance, one of the family members of the deceased person or the person who was involved in the burial must apply for one-time targeted financial assistance to the Department of Labor and Social Policy of the Odesa City Council.
In order to receive targeted assistance, one of the family members of the deceased person or the person who was involved in the burial shall submit originals or copies of the following documents to the personal application
- passport of a citizen of Ukraine (ID card);
- registration number of the taxpayer's account card (if any);
- information from the banking institution about the opened card account;
- death certificates.
Earlier, Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov said that the families of the victims of the September 30 rainstorm would receive UAH 100,000 each from the Odesa city budget. To honor the memory of those who died in the September 30 rainstorm, October 2, 2025, has been declared the Day of Mourning in Odesa. Nine people died as a result of the flood.
Nadiia Myshei, an employee of the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Odesa Regional State Administration, died in the floods on September 30 in Odesa. It was her body that was found in Sergei Eisenstein Lane. On September 30, in the evening, she stopped getting in touch after 19:00.
The bad weather caused serious damage: flooding of roads, power outages, damage to property, and falling trees. According to the meteorological service, 94 mm of precipitation fell in Odesa on September 30, which is more than 220% of the monthly norm for September (42 mm).
