Mykolaivvodokanal Supervisory Board Applications Close with 47 Submissions

Applications for the positions of independent members of the Supervisory Board of Mykolaivvodokanal are now closed. In total, the selection committee received 47 applications from representatives of the public sector, international organizations and business.


According to the press service of the Mykolaiv City Council, the next stage will be to verify the documents and evaluate the candidates according to certain criteria. The top ten will be invited for an interview, after which three winners will be selected.


The establishment of the Supervisory Board is a step towards more transparent, efficient and strategic management of the company. Independent members will control financial processes and help improve the quality of services for city residents.

The selection committee includes representatives of the city authorities, international organizations and anti-corruption initiatives, including Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych, as well as corporate governance and finance experts.

The competition is supported by the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI ) and the Corporate Governance Professional Association (CGPA). Soon, the citizens will learn the names of three independent members who will help develop the company.

Recently, Mykolaiv announced a competitive selection to the Supervisory Board of Mykolaivvodokanal.

Earlier, Intent wrote that it was planned to create independent supervisory boards at municipal enterprises. Mykolaivvodokanal will be the first company to introduce such a supervisory body. After that, the reform will affect Mykolaivelectrotrans and Mykolaivoblteploenergo.

Earlier, the deputies supported the initiative to reform the management system of the city's largest utilities. It is about introducing elements of corporate governance through the creation of supervisory boards that control the activities of these enterprises. The project will ensure the creation of an independent body that will monitor costs and assess the efficiency of resource use.
