Mykolaiv Seeks Stronger Ties with Germany: GIZ Discusses Cooperation Plans

In Mykolaiv, representatives of the military administration met with the director of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). The main topic of the visit was to discuss the prospects for cooperation, as well as to analyze the results of project implementation in the region and the city.
This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.
Vitaliy Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, met with Daniel Boucher, director of GIZ Ukraine. The main topic of the visit was to discuss the prospects for cooperation, as well as to analyze the current results of project implementation in the Mykolaiv region and the city.
During the meeting, the parties addressed the issue of improving medical and social services. Special attention was paid to the construction infrastructure to support medical and social projects, including rehabilitation.

Vitaliy Kim emphasized the importance of attracting international business to Mykolaiv region and the need to strengthen partnerships with Germany, stressing that even in difficult conditions, the region has all the prerequisites for the successful implementation of international projects.
Daniel Boucher, in turn, praised the effectiveness of cooperation with Ukrainian partners, emphasizing the importance of jointly developing solutions that meet the needs of the region.
"We support Ukraine and Mykolaiv region, we are ready to listen to your ideas and suggestions and will implement them," Boucher said.
Particular attention was paid to the development of cultural and educational ties between Ukraine and Germany, suggesting that exchange programs between schools, universities and theaters be expanded to help deepen cooperation between the two countries. The meeting concluded with a discussion of future initiatives and further steps in the partnership between GIZ and Mykolaiv region.
Denmark has recently allocated more than EUR 26 million to Mykolaiv Oblast to restore energy, transport, water supply and humanitarian demining. This assistance is aimed at improving critical infrastructure and enhancing security in the region.
Danish companies also plan to cooperate with entrepreneurs in the region, in particular through the export credit agency EIFO. Potential investors are currently looking for partners and new markets. State-owned enterprises can receive a loan in the form of a grant under certain conditions.
