In Mykolaiv, large-scale reconstruction of neighborhoods affected by shelling continues. One such project is the restoration of the Lisky neighborhood, which is being implemented with the support of the Kingdom of Denmark and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv City Council.
Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych, representatives of the Danish Embassy, and UNOPS leaders in Ukraine visited the site.
The project involves the restoration of 12 buildings that were damaged during the shelling. In addition, intra-quarter roads and pedestrian zones will be repaired, and windows and balconies in the apartments will be replaced.
Mr. Senkevych noted that this neighborhood was heavily damaged at the beginning of the war, but now it is being comprehensively restored. He hopes that the work will be completed in the spring. The mayor also thanked the Kingdom of Denmark for its continued support of the city.

Since the end of 2022 , Denmark has been funding recovery projects in Mykolaiv. Initially, the assistance was aimed at restoring heat and water supply and providing generators for critical infrastructure. Subsequently, attention was focused on special equipment to help restore buildings, as well as repair residential buildings and social facilities.
UNOPS representative Vitaliy Nazarenko explained that their goal is to make the neighborhood comfortable for living. Currently, they are working with local condominiums and management companies to gain access to apartments, but some housing will remain unrepaired due to the lack of owners. He emphasized that the quality and reliability of the project implementation are important, and the organization has all the mechanisms to monitor the work.

The reconstruction of Lisky will last until spring. UNOPS has also received permission to work at the Mykola Arkas Lyceum, which will begin in the near future.
