Mykolaiv region received pumping stations from international partners. This equipment, which was purchased with the support of the UN and the Danish Embassy, will significantly improve the effectiveness of fighting forest fires in the region.
This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.
Mykolaiv foresters, national parks and volunteer units received new pumping stations to extinguish forest fires.
The Southern Forestry Office, as well as the Tyligulskyi, Granit-Steppe Pobuzhzhia, and Pryingulskyi Regional Landscape Parks, along with volunteers, received seven pumping stations with gasoline engines and 500 liters of concentrated foam for spraying a foam-water solution.
These stations will significantly improve the effectiveness of forest firefighting by providing a powerful stream of water and foam for a quick response to fires.
The purchase of the pumping stations was made possible through funding from the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) with the support of the Embassy of Denmark in Ukraine. Three of these stations have already been transferred to units in Voznesensk, Pervomaisk and Mykolaiv districts for further use.
In January, the Shevchenkivska community in Mykolaiv region received the latest generators to support the work of local fire departments. These generators with a capacity of 5 and 7.5 kW will help rescuers to work smoothly even during long power outages, which is important for rapid response to emergencies.
In February, Mykolaiv received a series of high-tech devices and equipment to improve its infrastructure as part of humanitarian aid from the US government. The package included two dust control devices, a low-bed semi-trailer, a truck, two mobile jaw crushers and two mobile sorting plants.
Earlier, the city also received modern equipment for infrastructure development as part of international assistance from the United States. The city has received 15 diesel generators for municipal utilities such as Mykolaivvodokanal and Mykolaivlectrotrans worth over UAH 6.7 million.
