Residents of Mykolaiv and the region have been warned about new fraudulent schemes disguised as "easy money" or fake booking services.
This was reported by the press service of the National Police in Mykolaiv region.
According to law enforcement officials, scammers are actively distributing ads promising quick money for simple actions on social media. However, such schemes often require prepayment, purchase of courses, or paid access to assignments. The police emphasized that if you are offered to pay to start earning money, it is fraud.
Another popular scheme is fake accommodation booking. Fraudsters create fake websites or social media pages, demanding full prepayment for non-existent hotels.
The police advise booking accommodation only through official websites and trusted platforms, and contacting the administration directly.
Recently, the Central District Court of Mykolaiv imposed a pre-trial restraint on a 19-year-old resident of the region who is suspected of preparing a terrorist attack near the police administrative building. In court, the student told the court that she was looking for a part-time job, after which she received an offer from an unknown person to perform a "task" for a reward. The girl realized that she was transporting explosives, but trusted the assurances of her supervisor that "everything would be fine."
Vitaliy Kim, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, responded to the incident, warning teenagers and young people who might be tempted to make easy money on the Internet that there would be no real payments from the enemy, and that the end result for such "performers" was always the same: either they would be eliminated by the Russians themselves or detained by the Ukrainian special services, which would lead to a prison term of 10 to 15 years.
On February 14, an explosion in a cafeteria in Mykolaiv killed three servicemen of the Mine Action Center.
