Mykolaiv Oblast Grants Preferential Electricity Tariffs to Four Communities

Four communities in Mykolaiv Oblast are to receive preferential electricity tariffs. These are residents who do not have gas and district heating.

This issue was considered at a regular meeting of the Standing Committee on Joint Ownership of Territorial Communities of Villages, Towns and Cities of Mykolaiv Oblast, Housing and Communal Services, Capital Construction and Architecture of the Mykolaiv Oblast Council.

The meeting discussed the issue of confirming the absence of centralized heating and gas supply in apartment buildings. According to the members of the commission, this is an important step in granting electricity benefits to residents of such buildings.

Four main issues were proposed on the agenda:

• Confirmation of the absence of gasification and centralized heating in the houses of the Nechayansky village council.
• A similar question for the buildings of Pervomaisk City Council.
• Confirmation of the absence of such services in the houses of Arbuzyn village council.
• The last question concerned the buildings of the Novoodesa City Council.

After the discussion, the commission members unanimously approved the agenda and voted for each issue separately. All the proposed recommendations were supported.

It was noted that the importance of these decisions lies in the possibility for residents of these buildings to receive benefits for electricity, which is a significant help for families, especially in the context of high utility tariffs.

Following the meeting, a proposal was made to contact the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration to obtain additional information on the possibility of confirming the absence of centralized heat and gas supply in other communities that have not yet submitted the relevant documents.

A decision has also recently been made to introduce a preferential electricity tariff for residents of non-gasified houses. Seven communities have applied for this: Shyrokivska, Pryvilnyanska, Olshanska, Vesnianska, Ochakivska, Prybuzhanivska and Pervomaiska.

In addition, Mykolaiv approved tariffs for paid social services provided by the city's territorial social service center, including the purchase and delivery of goods, assistance in cooking, cleaning, hospital escorts, clothing repair, hairdressing, and paperwork.

In February, utility tariffs will remain unchanged until the end of the heating season. There are no plans to increase pensions, but other important changes are expected.
