In Mykolaiv region, a monitoring inspection revealed violations of the rights of residents in a private nursing home called the Care Home.

As reported on the website of the Ombudsman's Office of Ukraine, specialists of the regional office conducted an unscheduled inspection of this institution after receiving information about abuses.

According to the results of the inspection, it was found that some residents of the nursing home are kept there against their will, and their relatives do not always have the right to place them there. The staff of the nursing home use psychotropic drugs without a doctor's prescription, which is a serious violation. Most residents do not have the necessary prescriptions for these medications, and medical care is not provided in the facility, as none of the staff has a medical degree.
