The Mykolaiv Emergency Hospital has received the latest medical equipment that will significantly improve the quality of patient care. In particular, the hospital received an operating microscope for neurosurgery, a digital radiography system, a bipolar resectoscope for urology, and a system for biportal spinal neurosurgery.
This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv City Council.
According to Iryna Shamrai, head of the health department, the hospital plays a key role in the medical system not only in Mykolaiv but also in the neighboring Kherson region, as it has the only neurosurgical department in the two regions.
In 2024, the hospital has already purchased equipment for minimally invasive surgery. The device for urological interventions allows to reduce the time spent by patients in the hospital to two or three days. Neurosurgery can now be performed through small incisions, which speeds up the recovery process.
Oleksandr Demyanov, head of the LCHMH, emphasized that new technologies significantly improve the level of medical care and allow patients to return to normal life faster.
Iryna Shamrai noted that the hospital's development will remain a priority in 2025, and funding will continue.
Recently, the Mykolaiv Oblast Children's Clinical Hospital has planned a large-scale reconstruction, which will include the renovation of several buildings of the medical institution. It is planned to raise UAH 167 million in 2025-2026.
Mykolaiv also plans to overhaul the phthisiopulmonary medical center, allocating more than UAH 80 million for this purpose. The main goal is to create a modern infectious disease unit with separate boxes, which will ensure the safety of patients and medical staff, reduce the risk of infections and increase the effectiveness of treatment.
In addition, the first Rehabilitation Center in the region is being built in Voznesensk. The total budget of the project is UAH 37 million. It will help people recover from illness, injury, and surgery by providing comprehensive physical, psychological, and social support.
