The head of the board of the Human Rights Education Center in Lviv, journalist Volodymyr Beglov, gave a lecture to police cadets on the prevention of discrimination, hate speech, and the use of feminine gender.
As the journalist told an Intent correspondent, he has 20 to 30 such meetings a year.
"I probably have 20-30 such meetings a year in different environments. I'm even a little tired and change the design of the lecture to diversify it a bit for myself. But if there is a demand from the public, I think we should give them," said Mr. Beglov.
He also admitted that he expected the audience listening to the lectures, i.e. the cadets, to be difficult to communicate with, but his expectations were not met.
"I thought it would be a little difficult to interact with them, because of the form and the charter, but not so. It was a great audience - very cool young people. I liked them," the journalist said.
Volodymyr Beglov also noted significant changes in Odesa - the city has become more Ukrainianized since his last visit.
"I was here before the full-scale invasion and walked with my friend from Odesa. She was very offended at me then because I kept saying that there was too much Russian in Odesa, but now I deliberately walked around the city before the lecture - I went to cafes, shops, walked by the sea, and I was amazed. This is a completely different Odesa - 100 percent different," he said.
Thelecture was held at the Hrushevsky Odesa Regional Universal Scientific Library.
