Residents of the Kherson region affected by Russian shelling will be able to receive a one-time financial assistance of UAH 10,800 per person. The payment program is being implemented by the Red Cross in Kherson region.

This was reported by Larysa Marchenko, head of the Kherson regional organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, to Vgadr.

The following categories will be able to receive assistance

  • people whose houses were damaged or destroyed by the Russian army;
  • Families who lost loved ones as a result of shelling or have relatives who were injured and are undergoing treatment;
  • people who evacuated because of the threat to their lives and health.

The representative of the Humanitarian Center noted that it is not the Humanitarian Center that registers people for the aid. Lists of candidates are compiled and submitted by the Kherson Regional Military Administration. To be included in the lists, you need to apply directly to the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

According to her, after submitting the application, the payment must be made within 30 days - this is the donor's requirement.

"The financial assistance will be provided to three members of the household. If there are two people in the family, for example, both will receive UAH 10,800. If the family is large - six or more people - only three members will still receive the aid. The payment will be a one-time payment, and one person will receive the money - the head of the household," Marchenko said.

Also, at the beginning of the month, there were some changes in the procedure for providing humanitarian aid to residents of Kherson region. The most significant changes concern the distribution of food packages.

On March 31, the Red Cross ended its cooperation with the World Food Program (WFP). Since April 1, the charity organization "Peaceful Sky of Kharkiv" has been delivering food packages in Kherson.

Intent has already written that Kherson is planning to provide one-time assistance to the families of civilians who died as a result of Russian aggression after February 24, 2022. The funds will be allocated from the regional budget in accordance with social protection programs.
