Kherson Resident Faces Court for Collaboration with Occupiers in 2024

The Genichesk District Prosecutor's Office has sent to court an indictment against a resident of Kherson region who is accused of collaboration (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The investigation found that in July 2024, the man took the position of "head of administration" of the Ivanivka municipal district, appointed by the illegal "council of deputies".
The accused performed the functions of the occupation authorities, made decisions on local government issues and contributed to the legalization of the Russian regime.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the SBU Office in Kherson region. Now the fate of the suspect will be decided by the court.
Recently, four local residents who held positions in illegal law enforcement agencies during the occupation of the region were served with suspicion notices in absentia.
In February, a former law enforcement officer who worked for the Russian invaders during the occupation was detained in Kherson region. He was served a notice of suspicion of collaboration and a custodial measure of restraint was imposed.
Previously, investigators served suspicion notices to two residents of Kherson who worked for the enemy in the "police department" during the occupation of the city. These are a 37-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man. They are suspected of voluntarily taking up positions in the illegally created "Suvorov City Police" that operated under the control of the invaders.
A former police major from the Kherson region who voluntarily defected to the occupiers was also tried. He was found guilty of committing serious criminal offenses, including treason and collaboration. The accused is a native of Illinka village, Kakhovka district, Kherson region, a resident of Fedorivka village, Dariivka community.
