Kherson publisher and philanthropist Ihor Stepurin passes away

A publisher from Kherson, a volunteer and co-founder of the Samit-Knyha publishing house, passed away at the age of 51 Ihor Stepurin.

This was reported on his Facebook page by the publisher's brother Ivan Stepurin.

For some time, he also headed the state publishing house "Art", which was under the management of the State Committee for Television and Radio. In particular, the employees noted that the man was fighting cancer. The team of the institution also expressed respect for the scribe:

"The staff of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting deeply mourns the death of one of the best specialists and heroes of the publishing business and expresses sincere condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Ihor Mykolayovych Stepurin."

Ihor Stepurin was a co-founder of Samit-Knyga publishing house, known for his activity in the field of book publishing and culture. He was the executive director of the Ukrainian Publishing Association, headed the Library Country charity foundation, and initiated the creation of the Verkhovna Rada Book Club. In addition to his professional achievements, Ihor Stepurin is also actively involved in volunteer work.

The funeral service for Ihor Stepurin will take place on November 12, 2025 at 12:00 in the funeral hall of the National Research Center for Radiation Medicine, Hematology and Oncology at 119/121 Beresteysky Avenue (building 5).

Earlier, on October 6, at the age of 44, the heart of the editing director of the Suspilne Kherson team Vasyl Rudakov, an editorial director of the team, passed away on October 6.

Vasyl had been working at Suspilne since its inception. He began his career at the regional state television and radio company, where he participated in the creation of such projects as Children's Universe, People and Fates, Topic of the Day, and others. After the transformation of the company, he worked in the Suspilne team on the project "Today. Main'' project and edited creative essays and news stories.

The editor-in-chief of Suspilne Kherson Tetyana Yaremenko recalled his exceptional dedication to the work: "He was always very balanced and calm. During editing, he carefully selected video and music, could work around the clock... A professional with a capital P. This is how I will always remember him.
