At a meeting on February 12, the Executive Committee of the Izmail City Council decided to raise the fare for public transport operating in the "route taxi" mode.
An Intent correspondent writes about this with reference to decision No. 116.
The initiators were local carriers who sent a corresponding appeal to the city council. As a result, starting February 17, 2025, the fare for Izmail minibuses will be UAH 20 instead of the current UAH 15.
Preferential fares are provided for students of municipal secondary schools:
- UAH 5 during the school year (from September 1 to June 1);
- UAH 10 during the summer vacation.
The right to travel at a reduced rate is granted upon presentation of a student card.
The executive committee's decision also obliges carriers to comply with the terms of their passenger transportation contracts.
It should be added that the last time the fare for minibuses operating in Izmail was revised was in 2022. On June 10, the executive committee raised the fare from ten to fifteen hryvnias.
In addition, residents of Izmail will see an increase in the tariff for garbage collection. The utility company Zhitservis announced the price increase in March. The current tariff, which has been in effect since March 1, 2024, no longer covers the company's costs, the utility explains. Among the main reasons for the tariff revision are the rising cost of materials and spare parts, an increase in the minimum wage, and a 47% rise in the cost of waste collection and disposal set by Komuntrans LLC.
For households, the tariff will increase by 12.7% on average. If now Izmail residents pay 55 hryvnias per person, they will have to pay 62 hryvnias each in early spring.
The previous tariff increase for this type of service in Izmail took place a year ago. Since March 2024, the cost of the service has increased by sixteen hryvnias - from 39 to 55 hryvnias per person.
