Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov has extended the ban on vehicle traffic on Stepna Street from Ovidiopolska Street to Stovpova Street.
The relevant order of the mayor was published by the press service of the municipality.
Kasibus, a limited liability company whose employees are replacing a sewer collector that runs along the roadway of Stepna Street, applied to the mayor's office to extend the ban.
Driving through this area was banned in early October 2024 and has been extended twice since then. The last time was at the end of 2024.
In July 2025, the Dumskaya newspaper reported that during the repair of a sewer collector at the intersection of Stovpova and Stepna streets, workers discovered a hidden dip at the trolley turnaround. At that time, Infoksvodokanal employees found a six-by-four-meter void with a depth of four meters and a possibility of a roadway collapse.
In 2024, Intent 's correspondents, together with officials and members of the city council, continued to inspect the excavation sites in Odesa and found that the situation with information signs in the Peresypskyi district of Odesa was the worst of all the locations inspected. While in other districts at least some of the signs are filled in, in the Peresypskyi district almost all of them remain empty. Only one site had any information on it.
In November of the same year, excavations were inspected in the Kyiv district of Odesa and partially in the Khadzhybey district. Most of the sites were found to be in compliance with the regulations, but there were some problematic issues.
