The scandal over the "Piano and Coffe" kiosk, which was installed on the coast in Odesa on Lanzheron Beach, where there is also a piano, has recently broken out.
The kiosk and the protest around it attracted the attention of the head of the Odesa Regional Administration, Oleh Kiper, who went to the scene.
The head of the regional administration came to the scene and criticized the city council and its municipal departments.
"I don't understand why neither the utility company "Uzhberezhzhya" nor the police responded to this, and I have to go and find out what happened to this coffee shop," he said.
The police were called to the scene, and Odesa City Council member Anastasia Bolshedvorova publicly wrote "Get out of here" on the kiosk. The deputy also emphasized that she and her colleagues had filed parliamentary inquiries with the municipality, demanding an explanation of the grounds for the kiosk's installation, but received no response.
Meanwhile, the Dumskaya newspaper, citing its own sources in the mayor's office , reported that the kiosk is scheduled to be removed by the evening of September 1. Earlier, the newspaper also claimed that the kiosk, like a number of others, belonged to an employee of the Odesa municipality, but did not say who exactly.
Earlier, the barriers installed to collect parking fees near the sea in Odesa, which were blocked by the prosecutor's office, started working again. Prosecutors began investigating officials of the utility company and the Odesa City Council over suspicions of abuse in the arrangement of paid parking lots by the sea. According to the investigation, the area of the sites was underestimated in the contracts, and access to the beaches was restricted by barriers. As a result, proceedings have been initiated over abuse of office by officials of the Odestransparkservice utility and one of the city council's departments.
