Czech Aid Delivers 160 Packages to Displaced Residents in Kherson

The team of the KORIDOR UA charitable foundation delivered 160 aid packages to residents of the frontline community who lost their homes due to Russian shelling.

According to Roman Mrochko, the head of Kherson MBA, each of the 160 sets contains the most necessary things for people in difficult conditions: long-term storage food; hygiene products; a power bank and a lantern for autonomous lighting; warm clothes, including socks; essential medicines; and a sleeping bag for heating.

This is not the first aid provided by the Czech Republic to the Kherson region. Czech philanthropists have previously delivered humanitarian aid to local hospitals.

"We are sincerely grateful to our Czech friends for their help and systematic support. Together - to Victory!" the statement reads.

In Kherson region, the former deputy head of the village military administration will be tried for misappropriation of humanitarian aid.

Meanwhile, the State Bureau of Investigation has completed an investigation into the former director of the Department for Civil Protection and Defense of the Kherson Regional State Administration. The official is accused of purchasing low-quality clothing for military personnel, which caused the state losses of more than UAH 21 million.

The court recently imposed a pre-trial restraint on two officials suspected of extortion. One of them is the deputy head of the Kherson regional municipal emergency service. They demanded 10% of the contract amount, which amounted to UAH 199 thousand. The officials threatened the businessman that if he refused, he would not be able to continue his activities in Kherson and the region.

In addition, an investigation was completed in Kherson region into two members of an organized group who extorted money from drivers of overloaded trucks.
