The Bashtanka community will improve its water supply thanks to a new Grundfos pumping unit received in cooperation with Denmark. This will increase the efficiency of the pumping station, save energy and ensure high-quality water supply to residents.
This was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.
The Bashtanska community is improving its water supply system: a new Grundfos pumping unit with a power frequency control module will be installed at the pumping station of the second lift. The equipment worth more than UAH 3.1 million was obtained in cooperation with the Kingdom of Denmark.
According to the press service, the municipal utility company Miskvodokanal provides centralized water supply to 14,100 consumers, including 2,700 internally displaced persons. The water is supplied to residents of Bashtanka, as well as to residents of the villages of Dobre and Novoyehorivka. The water supply network is 330 kilometers long.
"The new equipment will help us increase the efficiency of the pumping station, save electricity and improve the quality of services provided to the public," said Artem Sinko, director of the company.
"The introduction of modern technologies in the water supply sector will allow the company to provide stable and high-quality water supply to the community and optimize energy costs.
In the village of Novopetrivka, Bashtanka district, a large-scale reconstruction of the water supply system damaged during the occupation and shelling is planned for 2022. Germany has already provided 3 million hryvnias for this purpose, but more than 100 million are needed to fully implement the project. Ochakiv is also planning a large-scale reconstruction of the water supply and sewerage system. The project will involve more than UAH 800 million.
By August 2025, Mykolaiv plans to launch a centralized drinking water supply. The cost of construction was reduced from UAH 8 billion to UAH 5 billion, while the project was significantly improved by adding a modern water intake station and partial converters that were not previously envisaged.
