The village of Avanhard, near Odesa, has decided to expand the staff of police officers in the community - instead of three, there will be five law enforcement officers.

This was reported by the Avanhard community.

On February 6, during a meeting of the executive committee, the community police officers reported on their activities in 2024. They currently serve five settlements with a population of about 42,000 people, including about 5,000 internally displaced persons.

Currently, three officers are protecting the community:

  • Senior Lieutenant Stanislav Sun - works at the police station in the Artvil residential area.
  • Captain Bohdan Petelko - his stronghold is located in the Citizens' Safety Center.
  • Captain Yevhen Kozma - works in the village of Prylymanske.

According to the village council, during the year they implemented 15 security initiatives, responded to 57 calls, reviewed 600 materials and drew up 225 administrative protocols. Law enforcement also regularly conducts preventive measures.

In 2025, the community plans to increase the number of officers to five, which will enhance security and respond to calls more quickly.

Recently, police officers detained a 57-year-old Odesa resident on suspicion of illicit enrichment based on the desire of conscripts not to be mobilized.

In addition, the police registered in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations information about the beating of the son of journalist Victoria Koltunova in Odesa.

Police also detained a former employee of a state-owned enterprise in Odesa region, who is suspected of systematically extorting bribes from businessmen for the use of non-residential premises.
