Apartment explodes in a high-rise building in Odesa region

An explosion of a gas cylinder damaged apartments on the upper floors of a five-story building in the city of Kiliya, Odesa region.
This was reported by the mayor of Kiliya Vyacheslav Chernyavsky.
Two residents of the apartment were injured in the explosion. The woman sustained mild injuries, and the man was rushed to a medical facility in serious condition, with an open fracture of the lower limb requiring further amputation, and significant burns of the upper limbs and thigh area. The explosion started a fire, which was extinguished by rescuers.
Meanwhile, in the evening, on December 3, explosions occurred in one of the apartments of a high-rise building in the Peresypskyi district of Odesa. It has been preliminarily established that a 34-year-old woman and her 44-year-old husband had a quarrel, during which the latter used two pieces of ammunition, which are believed to be grenades. The couple was injured and hospitalized.
The investigative team of the territorial police unit, specialists of the regional police explosive service department, medics and rescuers worked at the scene. Investigators have opened two criminal proceedings on the grounds of attempted premeditated murder committed in a manner dangerous to the lives of many people and illegal handling of ammunition.
Earlier, the police launched an investigation into the explosion at one of the territorial centers for recruitment and social support in Odesa. The tragedy occurred on the territory of the Peresypskyi District Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support in Odesa. As a result of the detonation, a citizen died at the scene. A serviceman of the TCC and SP was also injured. He was promptly provided with first aid and hospitalized in a medical facility. The victim's condition is being checked.
