On November 9, the Reserve+ app launched the function of obtaining a deferral from mobilization. Students, postgraduates, doctoral students and people with disabilities can use it.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
According to the ministry, the updated application is already available for download in the AppStore and PlayMarket. The service applies to students, postgraduates and doctoral students who receive education sequentially: for example, after a bachelor's degree, they continue their studies in a master's program, and then in a postgraduate program. People with disabilities can also get a deferment online by confirming their status with a pension certificate.
Online deferment is not yet available for parents with three or more children, but it is planned to be launched for this category in the near future after the beta testing is completed.
The service is easy to use: you need to log in to the Reserve+ app, send a request for a deferment, after which the system will automatically check your eligibility and, if confirmed, display the status in your military document.
The service has several advantages. First, students, postgraduates, doctoral students, and people with disabilities do not need to collect paper certificates and stand in lines. Secondly, it will help relieve the workload of recruitment centers. Finally, the system works quickly: if the documents are in order, the deferral status will appear in the electronic document in a few seconds.
In October, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved a bill that exempts citizens under 25 from mobilization.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi said that about 200,000 people liable for military service could enter higher education institutions this year to avoid mobilization. In order to solve this problem, it is planned to change the criteria for funding higher education.
In total, since February 24, 2022, more than 400,000 reports have been filed across Ukraine to search for men who evade military service.
According to statistics, in the south of the country, the majority of residents are in favor of increased mobilization.
