Verkhovna Rada takes control of the story of the beating of an adopted boy in Odesa region

The Temporary Investigative Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the investigation of cases of violations of children's rights has begun to look into the scandal that erupted in Odesa region over the beating of an adopted boy by his foster mother.
According to the head of the commission, MP Pavlo Sushko, the incident is currently being investigated by law enforcement.
The incident occurred in the village of Zakharivka. According to the MP, the mother is known to be a heavy drinker, but the politician was more outraged by the information that the head of the children's service refused to fulfill his duties and take measures to protect children, explaining his actions by the fact that he had a short working day. He allegedly suggested that law enforcement officers start doing something about the incident on Monday and threatened them with his patrons from the deputy corps.
"The children are also allegedly being told that if they are taken away, they will be placed in families with worse conditions," noted Pavlo Sushko.
The boy had numerous abrasions on his arms, torso and face, which can be seen in the photos released by the head of the temporary investigative commission.
Meanwhile, in Mykolaiv region, a court found an underage schoolgirl guilty of torturing another girl over a long-running conflict and jealousy. After the attack, the victim suffered a psychological trauma and was treated for post-traumatic stress disorder. As Intent wrote, the video of this incident was accidentally discovered by an inspector of the educational security service in January 2025. The case was classified as "torture," which provided for 5 to 10 years in prison.
A court in Odesa region also found a man guilty of systematic child rape and sentenced him to 15 years in prison. The prosecutor's office insisted on life imprisonment for the rapist, but due to his age of 74, he managed to avoid this punishment.
