NUJU announces no confidence in the head of Odesa branch Rabotin: a new structure will be formed in the region

The Board of the NUJU announced no confidence in the head of the Odesa regional organization, Yuriy Rabotin, and called on him to convene an extraordinary conference. To resolve the conflict in Odesa, the creation of a new local organization of the Union was supported.
This was reported by the press service of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine.
The Board supported the initiative to create a new journalistic organization in Odesa - the Odesa local organization of the NUJU.
This decision was made at an expanded meeting to resolve the conflict situation in the region and create additional opportunities for local journalists to join the Union.
In addition, the head of the Odesa regional organization, Yuriy Rabotin, was declared not to be trustworthy. He was instructed to convene a board meeting within a month and consider a proposal to hold an extraordinary reporting and election conference. If this requirement is ignored, the NUJU Plenum will consider it an attempt to separate the regional organization from the Union.
Ignoring this demand will be regarded by the Plenum as a blatant step by Yuriy Rabotin to separate the Odesa regional organization from the NUJU," the statement said.
The Board also emphasized the importance of observing journalistic ethics and protecting the rights of media workers in wartime.
In April, Odesa media workers sent an open letter to the head of the Odesa branch of the NUJU, Yuriy Rabotin, urging him to resign. The journalists accused him of passing on their personal data to Oleg Maltsev, a defendant in the case of creating a combat group to overthrow the government.
Rabotin refused to give an assessment of the situation in a commentary for Intent, but later released a statement in response. He claimed that the accusations were based only on screenshots, which, in his opinion, have no legal force, and called the situation a "social experiment" that revealed the unpreparedness of part of the media community to act within the legal framework.
Against the backdrop of this conflict, the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine suspended the issuance of journalists' certificates through its Odesa regional organization. The reason given was resonant accusations against the head of the regional organization regarding the transfer of personal data of journalists to a person whom the media associate with pro-Russian circles.
