The sanctions lists include Artek and 48 individuals involved in the Russian occupation of Crimea. The terrorist country uses the camp to rehabilitate military personnel who fought against Ukraine.

The relevant decree was signed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The decree was signed to expand the sanctions lists by the decision of the National Security and Defense Council. The Artek children's camp, located in occupied Crimea, was added to the list.

The report noted that the international children's campArtekh has been under the control of the Russian Ministry of Education since the annexation of Crimea. In addition to the camp, other educational institutions and 48 individuals were sanctioned.

In particular, the list includes:

  • Regional branch of the All-Russian public state movement of children and youth "Movement of the First" in Kherson region;
  • Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public State Organization "Voluntary Society for Assistance to the Army, Air Force and Navy of Russia" in Sevastopol;
  • Autonomous non-profit organization of additional professional education "Marine Innovation Center" of the regional branch of the same organization in Sevastopol.

In the occupied Crimea, Russian soldiers are undergoing rehabilitation under the "reset" program at a children's camp. While Ukrainian children are being deported, comfortable conditions for recreation are being created for the invaders - at least 30 soldiers who took part in hostilities against Ukraine have already taken advantage of this opportunity.

At the same time, in the Artek camp, which has been seized by Russia, children are forced to work for the army for at least six hours a week: they assemble drones, weave camouflage nets, make trench candles, and raise money for medicines for the military.

As of April 2025, there were 260 cadet classes on the peninsula, 63 more than last year. In addition, there are 16 Cossack classes on the peninsula. In total, more than 6,000 children receive military training in local schools.
