According to Andriy Kashuba, the development of the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company is a strategic task for the state, as the company is key to economic security, exports, and fleet modernization. Since 2022, the company has been experiencing serious difficulties due to the loss of most of its cargo base and increased competition.
According to CEO Igor Chertov, UDP's strategy for 2025 includes cost optimization, attracting new contracts in the Black Sea and Danube regions, modernizing the fleet, and creating a training center for crews.
The first meeting of the Supervisory Board was the start of a new management system that will combine the efforts of the state and business to restore the company's competitiveness and develop the Danube region.
A public-private partnership aimed at modernizing the main port terminals and restoring container transportation was also launched in Chornomorsk. The plan is to attract investments worth more than a billion US dollars.
