Kherson plans to spend UAH 6 million on a project to reconstruct the city's 40-hectare landfill. The contractor must not only develop the documentation but also obtain an environmental opinion by October 2026.
This is evidenced by data from the Prozorro electronic procurement system.
Kherson is going to develop project documentation for the reclamation and reconstruction of a solid waste landfill. The relevant tender for a range of engineering services was announced by the Ecopolis utility company of the Kherson City Council. The expected value of the procurement is UAH 6 million.
The contractor's services will include the development of design and estimate documentation for the facility with an area of almost 40 hectares, as well as obtaining an environmental impact assessment. The works are to be completed by the end of October 2026.

Proposals from participants are accepted until August 11, and the electronic auction is scheduled to take place on August 12. The customer requires a tender security of 180 thousand hryvnias, which is 3% of the purchase amount.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, more than 184 thousand tons of construction waste generated by the destruction have been accumulated in the de-occupied territories of Kherson region. According to the Department of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of the Kherson Regional State Administration, one of the largest centers of accumulation is Kherson, a city that is shelled daily and has collected significant amounts of such waste during the war.
In 2024 alone, almost 4,000 tons of debris and destroyed materials were recorded in the regional center. They are temporarily stored at a specially designated site at the Ecopolis landfill.
According to the YouControl analytical system, Ecopolis specializes in the treatment and disposal of hazardous waste, as well as construction and transportation services. Founded in 2020 with an authorized capital of UAH 8.8 million, the company is owned by the Kherson City Council. Since 2023, it has been headed by Sergiy Melashych.
In recent years, Ecopolis has shown an increase in revenues and assets, but in 2024 the company ended the year with a loss of UAH 243 thousand. The company actively participates in tenders, mostly receiving orders from municipal utilities.
