Mykolaiv has initiated the reconstruction of a sewage collector to improve the reliability and environmental safety of the district. The project with a budget of more than UAH 77 million has no confirmed funding yet, and it is planned to raise funding in 2025.
This is evidenced by the data from the DREAM digital restoration system.
It is planned to reconstruct a gravity sewer collector on the section from 6 Slobidska Street to Inzhenerna Street. The project involves replacing reinforced concrete pipes with modern two-layer corrugated pipes with increased strength. The total length of the renovated section will be over 1800 meters.

The reconstruction will be carried out along the route under the roadway of Ihor Bedzai Street with the dismantling of old pipes and manholes. It is planned to replace 43 precast concrete sewer manholes with modern waterproof liners and waterproofing. As the pipeline runs under the road, the asphalt concrete pavement will be restored after the work is completed.
The total cost of the project is about UAH 77.6 million. Of this amount, 64.7 million will be spent on capital expenditures - in particular, more than UAH 56 million is provided for construction, more than UAH 7 million for the purchase of equipment, and more than UAH 1.3 million for other expenses. Almost UAH 13 million is planned for taxes.

According to the project description, the work will be carried out without disconnecting the network due to temporary pumping of wastewater. Also, the section of the collector passes through tram tracks, which requires coordination with Mykolaivelectrotrans and the restoration of the tracks. The estimated duration of the work is 6 months.
According to the project initiators, the main goal of the reconstruction is to improve the reliability of the sewage system, reduce the risk of flooding and unpleasant odors, reduce maintenance costs, and improve the environmental situation in the area. The balance holder is Mykolaivvodokanal, a utility company.
Mykolaiv also plans to build a new underground heating main on Pogranichna Street. The project aims to reduce the accident rate of the city's district heating system, and its budget exceeds UAH 446 million.
