Mykolaiv communities presented new prospects for cooperation and investment to Danish partners. A new model of cooperation emerged at the meeting: specific communities of the region work with communities in Denmark.
This was reported by Suspilne.
Representatives of the Mykolaiv region held an important meeting with Danish partners, during which investment proposals for the development of local communities were presented.
Deputy Mayor of Mykolaiv Serhiy Korenev said that Aalborg, Denmark, is a partner city of Mykolaiv. During a trip to Denmark , representatives of Mykolaiv visited the critical infrastructure enterprise in Aalborg, where they discussed joint projects with innovative solutions. A project of cooperation with Mykolaivoblteploenergo for 2025-2026 has already been approved. They will cooperate in the field of heat supply and electricity generation.
The project is estimated at about a million Danish kroner," the official said.
The parties also discussed cooperation in the field of architectural improvement, in particular, the development of master plans for such areas as Buzky Boulevard and public gardens. According to Korenev, cooperation with Denmark is planned for 10 years.
According to Voznesensk City Council Secretary Viktoria Baltser, the community's investment proposal, including a river port, wholesale and retail market, and opportunities for residential construction, was presented to the Danish partners. Voznesensk is a twin community of Ikast-Brande.
As a result of the meeting, three key areas of cooperation were identified: economic potential development, creation of a council of entrepreneurs, and cooperation in waste and water management. Particular attention was paid to the problem of water losses in the networks, in particular to finding solutions to reduce them.
Volodymyr Panych, head of the Koblivska community, said that although no agreements have been signed with the Danish municipalities, they are interested in heat modernization, renewable energy, and water treatment. It is also planned to develop projects for the thermal modernization of educational institutions and the installation of solar panels in all community institutions.
Such cooperation between the communities of Mykolaiv Oblast and the Danish municipalities will contribute to the decentralization process. First, residents receive exactly the resources and services they need. Secondly, it allows communities to specialize and receive assistance in key areas that stimulate the development of the region's economy.
In addition, Mykolaiv has signed agreements with Danish companies to modernize water supply, energy efficiency, and develop municipal infrastructure. And the European Investment Bank has allocated EUR 7.8 million to the city to restore water supply.
