The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has blacklisted a Crimean Tatar foundation based in the U.S. for providing assistance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces

The terrorist state continues to expand the list of international organizations whose activities it considers a threat to its own policy regarding occupied Crimea. An American foundation that openly supports Ukraine and the Crimean Tatar people has fallen under the latest restrictions.
This was reported by the press service of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center.
The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office stated that the Crimean Tatar Foundation was allegedly founded in 2021 and operates out of New York. At the same time, the foundation’s official website states that the organization was officially registered in 2023.
According to the Russian side, the foundation is engaged in supporting Ukraine, specifically by providing the Armed Forces of Ukraine with drones, generators, transportation, communications equipment, surveillance equipment, and protective gear.
The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office also claims that the organization holds lectures, conferences, and exhibitions dedicated to the history of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people. The agency cited the dissemination of the position that Russia’s occupation of Crimea is illegal and the coverage of Russian aggression against Ukraine as specific reasons for adding the organization to the list of “undesirable” organizations.
The status of an “undesirable organization” in Russia effectively means a ban on its activities. Russian law provides for administrative and criminal liability for cooperating with such organizations or disseminating their materials.
This is not the first time Russian authorities have applied this mechanism against Crimean Tatar institutions. In 2024, the Crimean Tatar Cultural Center (KRC), which documents human rights violations in occupied Crimea and advocates for the rights of Crimean Tatars at the international level, was also added to the list of “undesirable” organizations.
In July, the European Court of Human Rights confirmed that Russia has no right to apply its legislation in the occupied territory. Therefore, all decisions by the occupying authorities on the basis of which people’s land was seized are illegal.
