Anna Montavon, Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Municipal Utility Company "Mykolaivvodokanal," has submitted her resignation from the board of her own accord and is stepping down from her position.

Montavon announced this on social media.

She noted that she was elected chair of the supervisory board in September 2025. A new chair is scheduled to be elected on September 16 of this year, after which Montavon will hand over her duties and officially conclude her participation in the board’s work.

According to her, over the course of a year, they managed to implement new management processes at the company and achieve initial results.

“The processes are working, Montavon said, explaining her decision to step down from the board.

She cited three main reasons for stepping down.

The first, she said, is the privacy and safety of her family. Montavon noted that Ukrainian legislation on asset declarations poses a risk of disclosing private information about family members who are not involved in her work in Ukraine, and also conflicts with EU privacy rights, particularly regarding minor children. At the same time, she emphasized that she had already submitted her declaration for 2025.

She cited new international professional commitments and trips to Asia and the United States as the second reason, noting that these would prevent her from fully fulfilling her duties as a board member going forward.

The third reason was the conclusion, based on the results of the first year of operation, that the corporate governance model in the public sector requires refinement: a clearer process for launching the board’s work, procedures for the appointment and resignation of its members, legal support, ownership policy, liability insurance, and the delineation of roles between the owner, the supervisory board, and management.

The supervisory boardof “Mykolaivvodokanal” consists of independent members and city representatives. Its tasks include strategic oversight of the company, evaluating management’s performance, and improving the efficiency and transparency of management.

Earlier, “Intent” reported that Montavon was under police investigation.
