Head of Mykolaiv Regional Council and Head of VA from Kherson Region Receive Orders

Mykolaiv and Kherson regions were among the regions whose representatives received high state awards for their contribution to community development and resilience in wartime. The awards were presented, in particular, to the chairman of the Mykolaiv Regional Council and the head of the Borozensky Rural Military Administration in Kherson region.

This was reported by the press service of the Presidential Office.

The President of Ukraine awarded a number of officials and representatives of local self-government with state awards. The Order of Merit III degree was awarded to Anton Tabunshchyk, chairman of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, and Aliona Okhrimovska, head of the Borozensky Rural Military Administration, who work in the Kherson region.

In addition to them, community leaders from different regions of Ukraine, including Poltava, Zakarpattia, Dnipro, Cherkasy, Rivne, and Chernivtsi oblasts, received awards. The awards were presented in recognition of their work during the war, organization of community life and assistance to the population.

The President also awarded a number of Ukrainian cities with the honorary "Hero City of Ukraine" award. These include settlements in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Khmelnytskyi, and Sumy regions that have withstood constant shelling, hostilities, or survived the occupation.

Zelenskyy introduced the honorary award"Hero City of Ukraine" on March 6, 2022. So far, 26 Ukrainian cities have already received this status.

Last October, a number of cities that showed resilience and heroism in the fight against Russian invaders were awarded the honorary distinction of "Hero City of Ukraine". Among the honorees were the cities of Voznesensk and Bashtanka in Mykolaiv region.

Also in April, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree awarding representatives of the Crimean Tatar people, noting their contribution to the struggle for the rights of the indigenous people, resistance to Russian aggression and preservation of the Crimean identity.
