The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine has filed a request with Interpol to issue a Red Notice against the MP Artem Dmytruk.
This was reported by the press service of the office.
"In accordance with international treaties on extradition, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine appeals to a number of relevant countries with a request for the detention and temporary arrest of a Member of Parliament suspected of attacks on a military and law enforcement officer for the purpose of his further extradition to Ukraine. In addition, in agreement with the Prosecutor General's Office, a request to publish a Red Notice against the said MP was submitted to the Interpol General Secretariat," the Prosecutor General's Office said.
Earlier, the State Bureau of Investigation served notice of suspicion to three people who illegally transported MP Artem Dmytruk, a suspect in attacks on citizens, across the state border to Transnistria.
Detectives found out that the MP left Kyiv around one o'clock in the afternoon in the direction of Odesa. The car was driven by another person. Thanks to the analysis of video from CCTV cameras on the Kyiv-Odesa highway, interrogation of the driver and a number of operational versions, it was established that the MP got out of the car on the highway near one of the settlements of Rozdilnyanskyi district of Odesa region. Around five o'clock in the evening, he got into another car driven by another suspect, as well as the organizer of the smuggling scheme. Around 9 p.m., they took the MP to the border, after which he illegally left Ukraine on foot.
The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin served a notice of suspicion to the current MP on the facts of attacks by a group of people on a law enforcement officer and a military officer, attempted theft of firearms, inflicting moderate bodily harm to the victim and hooliganism.
Artem Dmytruk is a Member of Parliament of the IX convocation (since 2019), elected in constituency 133 (Odesa region). He is also an entrepreneur and professional athlete who ran the professional boxing federation of Odesa and the region.
