The Central Election Commission has recognized the Permanent Representative of the President in Crimea Tamila Tasheva as the elected MP of Ukraine from the Voice party.
This was reported by the CEC press service.
Tasheva received a seat in the Verkhovna Rada instead of the deceased MP from her party , Oleg Makarov, as she is the next candidate in the electoral list of the Golos political party. After Makarov's death, Ivan Prymachenko, CEO of the online educational platform Prometheus, and Pavlo Kukhta, former First Deputy Minister of Economy, also applied for the seat. But they wrote statements that they would not go to parliament. Accordingly, Tamila Tasheva was given the right to run for parliament.
Tamila T asheva is a Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar state and public figure, human rights activist. She is a co-founder of the NGO CrimeaSOS. She is the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Tasheva was involved in the development of the Strategy for the De-occupation and Reintegration of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as well as in the preparation of several legislative initiatives, such as the law on the status of indigenous peoples of Ukraine, the law on persons deprived of their liberty due to politically motivated persecution, civilian hostages and prisoners of war, and the abolition of non-resident status for Crimeans.
At the same time, on Friday, Tasheva said on the air of the national TV marathon "United News" that she would not go to the Verkhovna Rada either.
"I am needed in my position now. I have been working in the president's vertical for five years. I consider myself a member of the president's political team. Of course, now we are all working for the same goal, for the state of Ukraine, but for now I do not plan to go to parliament," Interfax-Ukraine quoted her as saying.
The Voice faction in the parliament consists of 19 MPs.
