MP from Odesa is proposed to be deprived of his mandate

MP Serhiy Kalchenko has registered two draft resolutions on early termination of powers by MPs with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

The relevant documents are published on the parliament's website.

The motions refer to MP Ihor Vasylkovskyi (Servant of the People) and MP Vadym Rabinovych. Their colleagues propose to terminate their powers by depriving both MPs of Ukrainian citizenship.

Both MPs have ties to Odesa region. Thus, Ihor Vasylkovskyi was born in Odesa and elected to the Parliament as one of the representatives of the interests of voters of Odesa region, or rather from the electoral district #139 (Yuzhne, part of Suvorovskyi district of Odesa, former Velykomykhailivskyi, Zakharivskyi, Rozdilnyanskyi districts, part of Bilyaivskyi district, and part of the former Lymanskyi district). Earlier, the MP was recalled from the position of a member of the Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy.

It should be noted that in July 2022, Serhiy Vlasenko , a member of the Ukrainian parliament from the Batkivshchyna party, published a document titled "Presidential Decree on Deprivation of Citizenship" on , which included Ihor Vasylkovsky' s name among others. At the time, in a comment to IzbirKom, Ihor Vasylkovsky said that he was not aware of this. Currently, Ihor Vasylkovsky is still a member of the Ukrainian parliament.

Vadym Rabinovych was a member of the banned OPFL, but is now a non-factional member, having been recalled from the Committee on Human Rights, De-occupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, National Minorities and International Relations. Vadym Rabinovych has a keen interest in Odesa and Odesa Oblast and even ran for and was elected to the Odesa Oblast Council in 2020, but decided to remain an MP.
