Russian occupants plan to export the looted Ukrainian grain through Crimean ports. The first vessel should leave by the end of 2024.
According to Rayon Henichesk, they are using the annexed Crimea as a logistics center, including railroad routes and Sevastopol ports, to transport Ukrainian grain.
The so-called "acting director of the Kherson Grain Company" Serhiy Kiva said that the occupiers are organizing grain shipments through Crimean ports. They claim that they have already held the necessary negotiations to create the infrastructure. According to him, the first ship will be loaded by the end of the year, and the next season will begin with new contracts and proven logistics.
Despite the promises to provide "high prices" for local farmers, it is known that the occupiers are forcing farmers to sell their crops at reduced prices or even give them away for free. Local residents of the Kherson region are outraged: the Russians are putting pressure on farmers using intimidation, blackmail, and other methods of coercion.
The Ukrainian side considers such actions to be a gross violation of international law, as Russia uses the looted resources to finance its economy.
At the international level, Ukraine has called for tougher sanctions and a response to Russia's crimes aimed not only at stealing resources but also at putting economic pressure on the population of the occupied territories.
Meanwhile, railroad trains with special wagons for the transportation of grain and other bulk cargo were spotted in the port of Feodosia.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine documented the criminal activity of persons involved in the illegal export of 650 thousand tons of Ukrainian grain worth more than USD 200 million from the temporarily occupied territories of the south of our country. The Ukrainian special service has established the entire chain of those involved: from the traitors who signed the grain export permits to all crew members of 10 Russian vessels transporting the loot.
