Russian occupants in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine have begun to install anonymous denunciation boxes in schools.
According to the Center for National Resistance, children in schools are encouraged to report "disloyal" classmates or even their own parents. These measures are promoted under the slogan of "fighting extremism."
In addition, representatives of the repressive authorities hold lectures in schools, during which they agitate children to report those who, in their opinion, have disloyal views towards the occupation authorities. The school administration is obliged to pass all received anonymous messages to the federal security service (FSB) of the Russian Federation. At the same time, school administrations must independently compile lists of students who are considered disloyal and pass this data to the departments of the occupation administrations.
In addition, in the temporarily occupied Kakhovka in Kherson region, a special chatbot for anonymous denunciations was created by the Russian invaders. In addition, in educational institutions of occupied Kakhovka and its surroundings, Russian police officers conduct "lectures" on the topic "We are responsible for our actions." The purpose of such lessons is to identify and intimidate those students who show pro-Ukrainian positions. Particular attention is paid to the responsibility for disseminating information that, according to the occupiers, discredits the "Russian world" and exposes the crimes of the Kremlin."
Kateryna Rashevska, a lawyer at the Regional Center for Human Rights, once said that the re-education of Ukrainian teenagers and youth is very well integrated into the policy of the Russian Federation, and it is carried out by bodies of different levels - federal, regional, occupation and even Ukrainian collaborators:
"This is a set of measures aimed at militarizing and politically indoctrinating Ukrainian children through both formal and non-formal education. Both in the occupied territory and in the territory of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus."
