In the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson region, Russian invaders presented a new textbook on the so-called "history of Kherson region" for students in grades 5-7.

According to the National Resistance Center, the textbook was developed over three months, which indicates its propaganda purpose. Instead of covering the centuries-old history of the region, the textbook contains only materials that justify Russian aggression and occupation.

The book does not mention the periods before 2014, and events not related to Russia are deliberately ignored. According to experts, the Kremlin uses such materials to manipulate the minds of young people, trying to change the historical perception of the population.

The occupiers call any alternative opinion about history "rewriting history." Instead, the Center emphasizes that history is a science that studies changes and developments and should not be limited to one opinion.

Meanwhile, law enforcement officers have served a notice of suspicion to a professor at a local university in Kherson who organized the teaching of students according to Russian Federation standards. Currently, the professor is hiding in the temporarily occupied territory, so she was served the suspicion in absentia.

Prior to that, the prosecutor's office served a notice of suspicion to a former lyceum director from Kakhovka district, Kherson region, who was engaged in propaganda and helped to implement Russian standards in education. In particular, during the occupation of the region, the suspect voluntarily cooperated with the Russian invaders. Since April 2023, she has headed an illegally created educational institution on the basis of the seized Rubanivska school in Kakhovka district.

The former principal organized the educational process according to Russian standards, introduced the teaching of disciplines in Russian, and introduced a pass regime to the school with the participation of the Russian military. In addition, she conducted propaganda campaigns.

Also in the dock was an educator from Kherson region, who headed a department in the occupation "ministry of education".
