New Media Entities Registered in Ukraine: Odesa Region Expands Access

The National Council has added new entities to the Media Register, including representatives of Odesa region.

This was reported by the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting.

In particular, the Odesa-based company Ukr-business 2000 has received official status in the field of audiovisual services on demand by registering the non-linear media service DyvyTV. This platform will provide its services throughout Ukraine via the Internet (OTT technology).

The Register also included KTV Aida, an audiovisual services provider operating in the village of Fontanka , Odesa region. This will expand access to information and entertainment services for local residents.

In addition to Odesa region, the list of new media includes 24 other entities from different regions of Ukraine. In total, the National Council registered:

  • 14 entities in the field of print media (newspapers, magazines, scientific publications);
  • 9 online media, including information portals, YouTube channels and social media pages;
  • 2 audiovisual service providers;
  • 1 non-linear media service.

Twenty-five print media were added to the Register, including 15 newspapers, 8 magazines, 1 scientific journal and 1 literary almanac. 60% of the journals are distributed not only in Ukraine but also abroad.

Publications at universities have also received official registration. In particular, Vinnytsia National Medical University included two journals in the list - "Bulletin of Vinnytsia National Medical University" and "Bulletin of Morphology", which are published quarterly in Ukrainian and English.

The National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" added the journal "Territory of Security", and the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman registered the publication "Historical and Political Studies", which is published in seven languages.

Among the printed newspapers, 11 are distributed internationally, 2 have national status, 1 is a regional newspaper, and one is a city newspaper.
