Intent opens a media school

Intent invites postgraduate and undergraduate students from Odesa to study in the editorial office.
Priority is given to undergraduate and postgraduate students from non-journalism faculties.
The Intersection Media School is a training center aimed at training new professionals in the field of journalism, media and communications. The school offers practical courses focused on working in local and regional media, with an emphasis on current trends in journalism, social media and digital technologies. Students gain real-world skills under the guidance of experienced journalists and media experts, and participate in the creation of news stories, interviews, reports and investigations. The school aims to support independent journalism and the development of the media industry in the region.
As part of the school, students will have access to the work of the newsroom, as well as the experience of journalists and media editors. The teachers will be Valeriy Bolgan, editor-in-chief of Intent, Yevhenia Genova, deputy editor-in-chief, Oleh Parkhitko, associate professor of the Faculty of Linguistics and Translation at the International Humanitarian University, Natalia Steblyna, analyst at the Pylyp Orlyk Institute for Democracy, Natalia Chernetska, editor of the Center for Public Investigations, and Natalia Dovbysh, head of Intent's video studio.
The first enrollment is announced for October 2024, and the course will run from November 2024 to April 2025. Participation in the school is free for participants.
In April, the Institute of Mass Information updated its interactive map of recommended Ukrainian media outlets. The list includes 11 publications (online, television, radio) from Odesa region.
According to the results of an independent expert assessment by the Institute of Mass Information (IMI) and Detector Media, the updated list includes 174 Ukrainian resources, including Intent.
Earlier, Intent co-foundedthe UA Recovery Window MediaNetwork, which includes independent media, NGOs and think tanks focused on high-quality and transparent coverage of all aspects of Ukraine's recovery. This association started its work on January 22, 2024.
