On March 19, an extraordinary meeting of the executive committee of the city council will be held in Odesa. The beginning is at 11:00. The meeting will be held in a live broadcast format.
The agenda includes issues of defense and coastal development. In particular, the members of the executive committee considered approving the procedure for financing the activities of volunteer formations of the Odesa city territorial community.
In addition, the executive committee plans to approve a project for the improvement of the waterfront. This is a section of the coast from Lanzheron Beach to Zolotyi Bereg Beach, which is part of the first phase of work.
The plans envisaged the arrangement of pedestrian zones on several sections of the coast at once. In particular, the territory of Luzanivka beach between the Ukrainian Children's Center "Young Guard" and Academician Veksler Lane, as well as the section from Lanzheron beach to the 11th station of the Big Fountain between traverses No. 1 and No. 6-b. In addition, the pedestrian infrastructure was planned to be arranged on the section from the 11th to the 16th station of the Big Fountain - between the traverses No. 6-b and No. 17 of the second stage of landslide protection structures.
At the last meeting of the executive committee in Odesa, the issue of improving the embankment from Lanzheron to Zolotyi Bereg was removed from consideration. The project was blocked by the head of the legal department because of the kiosks and buildings located on the waterfront. According to media reports, the draft decision was rejected by the head of the legal department, Inna Popovska, allegedly because of the kiosks, booths, and buildings located on the waterfront.
The executive committee also considered the approval of the report on the expenditures of the City Environmental Protection Fund for 2025 and the annual report on the implementation of the budget of the Odesa City Territorial Community.
