An audit of assets written off over the past five years has been launched in Mykolaiv

In Mykolaiv, an investigation will be conducted into what has happened to decommissioned vehicles, office equipment, and other municipal property over the past five years. New public improvement projects have also been transferred to municipal enterprises.

The Standing Committee on Housing and Utilities supported the removal of the boiler house in Ochakiv from the list of properties designated for privatization. Although the building belongs to the Mykolaiv community, the Ochakiv City Council requested that it remain under municipal ownership due to constant Russian shelling. The facility is essential for ensuring a stable heating season.
Council members also approved the sale by auction of three non-residential properties in Mykolaiv: on Tsentralna, Teatralna, and General Oleksa Almazov Streets.
In addition, they approved the transfer of a number of properties to municipal enterprises for indefinite use. The “GDMB” municipal enterprise was transferred the “Sun Tree” art installation, which includes an autonomous charging station for electronic devices, as well as the outdoor lighting network, which is planned to be restored after the transfer with the support of international donors. Overhead district heating networks on 5th Slobidska Street were also transferred to the “Mykolaivoblteploenergo” enterprise.
The issue of control over decommissioned property sparked the most discussion. Council members noted that the city council regularly approves the write-off of vehicles, machinery, and equipment; however, information regarding their subsequent disposal, the volume of scrap metal or precious metals recovered, and proceeds from the sale of these materials is virtually nonexistent.
As a result, the commission instructed the Department of Municipal Property and all entities responsible for maintaining balance sheets to submit, within two months, a comprehensive report on all property written off over the past five years. The document must specify the quantities written off, the method of disposal, and the financial proceeds from the sale of the recovered materials.
Additionally, in July, the competitive bidding process to select a company to sort household waste in the city concluded without a winner. City authorities will announce a new selection process in the near future.
