On October 15, the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi City Council in the Odesa region approved Anatolii Levchenko as deputy mayor for executive affairs. Twenty-four council members voted in favor of the decision.
This was reported by the publication Bessarabia INFORM.
Before the vote, one of the council members called on Levchenko to improve cooperation in the housing and utilities sector. According to him, all entities in the sector need to be brought together so that they can communicate with one another and help each other, rather than refusing to provide support.
The council member advised against summoning leaders one by one, suggesting instead that everyone be brought to the same table to resolve issues together. He also assured Levchenko that the new deputy mayor could count on the support of his colleagues.
Levchenko himself thanked the council members for their trust and succinctly noted that the work ahead is what matters.
City Council Secretary Oleksandr Skalozub also thanked the council members for their trust in the new addition to the team. He expressed hope that the results of this appointment would become apparent in the near future.
In a separate resolution, the council members changed the membership of the City Council’s Executive Committee. Anatoliy Levchenko and Pavlo Bobchynskyi, the head of the district police department, were added to the committee.
Previously, according to media reports, Levchenko headed the Housing and Utilities Department in Zatoka. Intent was unable to verify his declaration—it is not listed in the Unified State Register of Declarations.
It is worth noting that the mayor of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Vitalii Hrazdan , is currently being held in the Odesa pretrial detention center. He is suspected of extortion. Recently, a court extended his pretrial detention by another 60 days and upheld his suspension from the office of mayor.
At the same time, Hrazdan may be released from the detention center after posting bail in the amount of 4 million 992 thousand hryvnias.
