Odesa plans to update the system of paid parking on the coast. In addition to the hourly rate, a monthly subscription will be introduced for regular users of parking lots by the sea.
This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations.
The city intends to revise the conditions for using parking lots on the coast. The executive committee of the city council has sent an initiative to the military administration for approval to set a new tariff of 60 hryvnias per hour of parking near the seashore.
In addition, it is proposed to introduce a monthly subscription worth UAH 10,000, which will be available to citizens, entrepreneurs and companies. The new rates are expected to take effect on June 1, 2026.
The draft decision was considered as part of changes to the organization of the work of designated parking areas in the coastal zone of Odesa. The final approval of tariffs will remain with the Odesa City Military Administration.
The document provides for an hourly fee of UAH 60, and a special monthly rate of UAH 10,000 for drivers who regularly use the parking lots.
At the same time, a number of categories of citizens will be entitled to free parking. This applies to people with disabilities, veterans and combatants affected by the Chornobyl accident, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations, provided they have the appropriate documents or special license plates.
The explanation to the draft law states that the changes are related to the work of the military administration under martial law and the need to streamline the parking system on the coast during the summer season.
As Intent reported, Odestransparkservice has prepared schemes for paid parking zones near city beaches.
According to Odesa City Council member Petro Obukhov, the operation of parking lots can provide the city budget with up to UAH 20 million in revenue per season. According to the utility company, schemes have already been developed for 567 parking spaces, of which 62 are for people with disabilities. The total area of the designated sites exceeds 8,000 square meters.
Paid parking lots are planned to be set up near the Lanzheron, Dolphin, and Zolotoy Bereg beaches, as well as on a section of Fontanskaya Road from Lvivska Street to Garshina Street.
