The interim mayor of Odesa, Ihor Koval, has appointed the vice-rector of Odesa National Medical University, Kostyantyn Talalayev, as his deputy.

This was reported by the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak.

Konstantin Talalayev is known for his role in the attempt by Health Minister Uliana Suprun to dismiss Valery Zaporozhan from the post of rector of the medical university. The reason for his dismissal was that Zaporozhan refused to let the Health Ministry commission in and provide it with the necessary documents for inspection.

Zaporozhan himself then went on sick leave and sued the Ministry of Health. At the same time, he appointed the current vice-rector Yuriy Bazhor as acting head of the university. The Ministry appointed Konstantin Aymedov as acting rector of Odesa National Medical University. Later, the leaders of Zaporozhan's supporters and the ministry changed. And a protracted conflict began at the university.

Konstantin Talalayev was one of the plaintiffs in the court demanding a ban on changing the rectors of the university.

Earlier, the interim mayor of Odesa, Ihor Koval, appointed Deputy Mayor Volodymyr Domnitsak as interim mayor. Also, the director of the department , Oleksandr Tikhovsky, resigned from his post, but the next day he became the interim administrator of the executive committee.

On October 15, the President signed a decree appointing the head of the Dnipropetrovs'k Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, as the head of the newly created Odesa City Military Administration. His team included deputies: Nadiya Zadorozhna, former deputy head of the Dnipropetrovs'k regional administration for social issues, Olga Lozova, former director of the Department of Education and Science of the Dnipropetrovs'k regional administration, Hennadiy Raskin, who had previously worked in the mayor's office, and Serhiy Krasylenko, who was appointed deputy head of the Odesa military administration.
